HackerNoon is a community-driven online publishing platform established in 2016 by David Smooke.[1] The site covers a range of topics including software development, startups, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrencies, and hacker culture. It serves as a platform for industry professionals and tech enthusiasts to publish technical articles, insights, and opinion pieces.[2][3]

In 2019, HackerNoon moved from Medium to its own custom publishing platform, offering contributors tools to manage their content and retain ownership rights.[4] The platform has also adopted decentralized storage solutions to archive its published articles.[5] Smooke is CEO, with funding coming from sponsorships, partnerships, and publishing services.
