Guido Vianello (born 9 May 1994) is an Italian professional boxer. As an amateur, he competed in the men's super-heavyweight event at the 2016 Summer Olympics.[1]

Professional career

[edit | edit source]

Vianello was scheduled to face Efe Ajagba on April 13, 2024 in Corpus Christi, Texas.[2] Vianello lost via split decision (96-94 for Ajagba from two judges and one judge ruling 94-96 for Vianello) despite having a strong first and tenth round.[3]

Vianello defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov on August 17, 2024 via doctor stoppage due to significant swelling of the left eye at Videotron Centre in Quebec City, Canada.[4]

Vianello lost to Richard Torrez on April 5, 2025 in Las Vegas.[5][6]

On October 11th, Vianello would face undefeated Canadian Heavyweight, Alexis Barriere, for the vacant WBC Continental Americas title. The fight was on the undercard of the Jaron Ennis - Uisma Lima bout, and would be contested evenly for the first three rounds. However, Vianello would knock Barriere down in the fourth, and finish the job in the following round, winning the title, and reviving his career. Many would say this was the best win in his career, perhaps barring the Makhmudov victory.

Personal life

[edit | edit source]

Vianello was an athlete of the Gruppo Sportivo Forestale (from 2013 to 2016).[7] From 1 January 2017, the G.S. Forestale merged with the Centro Sportivo Carabinieri, therefore Vianello became an athlete of the C.S. Carabinieri.[8]
