"Gotta Go My Own Way" is a song from the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical 2. It is featured on the soundtrack of the film and performed by Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron as Gabriella Montez and Troy Bolton.

Composition

The song is a pop ballad,[1][2] featuring gentle beats and acoustic guitars. It has been described as a bittersweet duet.[2]

Marianne Eloise of Vice has commented the song "sounds exactly like" "Leave (Get Out)" by JoJo.[1]
