This is a 30-second sample of "The Day the World Went Away" from Nine Inch Nails' The Fragile. This sample is believed to be fair use of the source material in the context of the article Nine Inch Nails:

  • It is used to demonstrate musical characteristics of the band, where no scholarly print source could be found on the topic.
  • It is used here for purely encyclopedic and informational purposes.
  • It does not harm the copyright owner commercially.
  • The same sample was used in the promotional DVD Collected, which the copyright holder distributed free of charge.
