English: An 8" Ritchey–Chrétien telescope on a strain wave mount and equipped with a monochrome camera and filter wheel tracks the Pleiades and the Orion Nebula under dark skies in York Prairie, WI, USA.
At the start of the time lapse, the rig is imaging the last three panels of a 12-panel mosaic of the Pleiades. The mount then slews to home position, awaiting further instructions, and then slews to the Orion Nebula. The camera position is adjusted so that Orion moves into the frame, and the rig images two panels of the Orion Nebula before the time lapse ends.
