Event:Bay Area Meetup GLAM Lunch 2025

This page is a placeholder, intended to serve as an archive for the the GLAM Lunch and Learn event organized in collaboration between the San Francisco Historical Society and the Bay Area Wikipedians.

The Lunch and Learn will take place on November 18, 2025 from 12 to 2pm, focused on Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons for cultural and historical organizations. This includes, but is not limited to, galleries, libraries, archives and museums.

The presentation and activities will focus on how cultural organizations can benefit from collaborating with Wikipedians and the free, open source tools supported by the Wikimedia Foundation that can help their work, and how Wikipedia editors may support them. Examples include: improving the visibility of collections and institutions, aiding in the conservation of archives, and creating new ways of involving the community, in multiple languages. It will also include plenty of time to meet others interested in these tools and open knowledge initiatives.
