Calling all Wikimedia editors and aspiring-editors, come join us to share in the experience of editing Wikipedia!

We meet Wednesday December 10 at 6PM in Civic Center, San Francisco.

This event will be dedicated to how to access and use reliable sources through the library. There will be a presentation by a librarian from the Magazines and Newspapers section. A local Wikipedian will introduce further tools and wiki initiatives to improve the reliability of sources used on the Encyclopedia.

  • 6.10-6.50pm: Presentation by SFPL librarian on resources available to editors
  • 6.50pm-library closure: Ask questions about library resources or socialize with other Wikipedians and open knowledge contributors in small groups focused on the reliability of sources used on Wiki projects, how to organize to improve local pages and coverage, or any other tasks and topics related to contributing to Wiki projects

Who is this Event For?

This event is primarily intended as a skills-development workshop for existing editors curious how to get the most out of library resources and/or work on other projects, but beginners are welcome to attend, and will receive support from experienced editors.

Where and When

This event will take place at the Main Branch of the San Francisco Public Library.

Code of conduct

We expect all attendees to abide by the Universal Code of Conduct. Any issue can be reported to the events organizers, which will introduce themselves at the beginning of the meetup.
