The song received mixed to positive reviews from music critics. Jessica Phillips of Country Weekly described it as a "sizzling duet".[3]

In contrast, Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic offered a more critical perspective, characterizing the track as a "questionable stab at pop radio crossover".[4]

Ben Foster of Country Universe awarded the song a grade of B, noting that while the lyrics are simple, they effectively convey the story of two former lovers who are in denial about their lingering emotions.[5]

Billy Dukes of Taste of Country gave the song four out of five stars, describing it as "a daring collaboration" that "fits right into the Rascal Flatts wheelhouse".[6]
