"Easy" is a song written by Katrina Elam and Michael Mobley and recorded by the American country music group Rascal Flatts as a duet with British pop singer Natasha Bedingfield. It was released in June 2011 as the third and final single from Rascal Flatts' album Nothing Like This. It became Rascal Flatts' fifth AC Top 20 hit. As of the chart dated July 21, 2012, the song has sold 917,000 copies in the US.[1]
Content

8 time signature with a vocal range from C♯3 to C5. The song begins in C♯ minor and modulates up to E minor halfway through the second verse.[2]
Critical reception
[edit | edit source]The song received mixed to positive reviews from music critics. Jessica Phillips of Country Weekly described it as a "sizzling duet".[3]
In contrast, Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic offered a more critical perspective, characterizing the track as a "questionable stab at pop radio crossover".[4]
Ben Foster of Country Universe awarded the song a grade of B, noting that while the lyrics are simple, they effectively convey the story of two former lovers who are in denial about their lingering emotions.[5]
Billy Dukes of Taste of Country gave the song four out of five stars, describing it as "a daring collaboration" that "fits right into the Rascal Flatts wheelhouse".[6]
Music video
