vivenu GmbH is a German software company based in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia. The company develops ticketing software for event organizers and venues. It was founded in 2018 by Simon Hennes, Jens Teichert, and Simon Weber[1][2].
History
[edit | edit source]The company established its headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany, in 2019. In 2022, vivenu opened its first international office in Tampa. As of 2025, the company maintains offices in Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Darmstadt, Zurich, Paris, and New York City.
vivenu provides ticketing software infrastructure to organizations in various sectors, including sports, festivals, concerts, museums and private label solutions. In 2024 and 2025, the company entered partnerships with organizations including the United Basketball League (UBL), Santa Clara Athletics, and the Big South Conference. Other clients include FC Schalke 04[3], Stanford Athletics, and Hockenheim-Ring GmbH[4].
Between August and November 2025, the company introduced additional features to its platform, including tools related to audience segmentation, ticket resale, and donation management.
Platform
[edit | edit source]vivenu operates as a white label ticketing platform, in which the platform adopts the branding of the event organizer rather than displaying vivenu’s own branding. The system is built on an API-first architecture, which allows developers to build custom user interfaces (frontends) while using vivenu's infrastructure for the backend logic[5].
The platform includes functionality related to ticket sales, access control, and payment processing, and supports integrations with third party software providers such as Salesforce and Adyen.
Funding
[edit | edit source]As of December 2025, vivenu has raised approximately $66 million in venture capital[6]. In March 2020, the company secured €1.4 million in Seed funding[7][8][9].
In December 2020, the company raised €12.6 million ($15 million) in a Series A round led by Balderton Capital[10], with participation from previous investor Redalpine. The round included investment from Aurum Fund LLC, an investment fund associated with the San Francisco 49ers[11].
In November 2021, vivenu closed a Series B financing round of $50 million (€43.6 million). The round was led by Activant Capital.
Recognition
[edit | edit source]In April 2025, vivenu CEO Simon Hennes was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list in the Technology category[12]. In May 2025, Chief Technology Officer Jens Teichert received an industry award from the ticketing business forum[13].
