Spacest.com is an Italian proptech company founded in 2019 and headquartered in Milan, Italy.[1][2] The company operates an online platform for medium- and long-term residential rentals, connecting landlords with tenants such as international students, workers and professionals. The service includes property listings, booking and digital contract management.[3]
History
[edit | edit source]The company was founded in 2019 under the name Roomless by Riccardo Matteoni, Francesco Martini, Andrea Primaverili and Andrea Degl’Innocenti.[1] Its founders were later included in the Forbes Italy Under 30 – Consumer Technology list in 2021.[4]
In July 2022, Roomless completed a €1.5 million seed investment round led by Sensible Capital, a venture capital firm founded by Silvia Rovere, together with Club degli Investitori. Nana Bianca and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze also participated by converting previous financing into equity.[5][6] The round was also reported by Italian business press.[7]
In February 2024, Roomless announced a rebranding to Spacest.com. The new name was introduced to unify the platform under a single European brand.[2]
In 2025, Spacest.com acquired the domain and brand assets of the German rental platform TheHomelike.com, following the shutdown of Homelike Internet GmbH after ten years of operation. The acquisition covered digital assets only, and the financial terms were not disclosed.[8][9][10][11][12]
Operations
[edit | edit source]Spacest.com provides online listings for residential properties available for rental periods between one and eighteen months. Users can view listings, submit applications and complete lease agreements through the platform. The company operates in Italy, Spain, Germany, France and Portugal.[3] In Italy, it also offers a “Guaranteed Rent” service for landlords.[2]
In 2025, the company participated in Refuture – Forum dell’Economia Immobiliare, an event on innovation and sustainability in the real estate sector, held at the Italian Chamber of Deputies in Rome.[13]
Media coverage
[edit | edit source]In 2023, Il Fatto Quotidiano reported on the platform’s role in Milan’s rental market and its business model based on pre-booked rentals.[14] IRPI Media has also cited Spacest among platforms active in mid-term rentals in Rome.[15]
