Rick Bleiweiss is an American author and former music and publishing executive. He writes the Pignon Scorbion mystery novels, beginning with Pignon Scorbion & the Barbershop Detectives.[1]
Bleiweiss worked for many years in the music industry as a recording artist, producer, and label executive.[2] He later joined Blackstone Publishing, where he worked in business development and was involved in audiobook projects such as the company's editions of novels by Gabriel García Márquez.[3]
His first novel, Pignon Scorbion & the Barbershop Detectives, was published in 2022.[4] The book was reviewed by Kirkus Reviews and the Historical Novel Society and was listed among notable mystery debuts by Publishers Weekly.[5][6][7] A second book in the series, Murder in Haxford, was released in 2023.[8] It was reviewed by Kirkus,[9] Library Journal,[10] and Publishers Weekly.[11] In 2022, Deadline reported that First Wind Film Development had optioned television rights to the series.[12]
