Boxing is a combat sport in which two people, usually wearing protective gloves and hand wraps, throw punches at each other for a predetermined amount of time in a boxing ring.
What is boxing?

- Sport – form of competitive physical activity that aims to improve fitness and entertain participants or spectators.
- Contact sport – involve physical contact between players.
- Combat sport – competitive contact sport with rules simulating hand-to-hand combat.
- Collision sport – in which athletes purposely collide with each other or objects.
- Competitive sport – athletes or teams compete to determine a winner.
- Individual sport – sports where participants compete as individuals.
- Recreational sport – sport engaged in for leisure or recreation.
- Spectator sport – played primarily for the entertainment of spectators.
- Professional sport – where athletes receive payment for participation.
- Contact sport – involve physical contact between players.
