Golf Genius Software (Golf Genius) is an American technology company headquartered in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
According to the National Golf Foundation, the company employs over 300 team members, including 75 PGA Professionals who collectively bring more than 1,000 years of PGA member experience and 300+ years of head professional experience. Its technologies are used by over 10,000 golf courses, associations and tours across 63 countries.[1]
History
[edit | edit source]In 2009, Mike Zisman founded Golf Genius in Wayne, Pennsylvania.[2]
In 2016, the United States Golf Association selected Golf Genius as the tournament management component for its Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN) service.[3] Subsequently, Golf Genius' tournament management software was selected to replace the Tournament Pairing Program (TPP) for all state and regional golf associations in the US.
In 2020, Forbes reported World No. 1 golfer Rory McIlroy was among a group of investors who supported Golf Genius in expanding its global reach.[4] "I want to help the timeless game of golf transition into the digital era," said McIlroy. "Innovation is vital, and Golf Genius is the market leader in competition software."[5]
In recent years, Golf Genius has acquired Shotzoom (GolfShot, Coach Now),[6] SwingU,[7] ThrivSports,[8] Twilight Golf Association[9] and Operation 36.[10]
