Amplla a.s. is a Czech company that designs and manufactures portable fire extinguishers with an emphasis on architectural integration and ergonomics. Founded in 2019 by architect Přemysl Kokeš, the company is known for using a flat, non-cylindrical construction, including a ring-shaped vessel and a shielded variant intended for visible installation in interiors.[1][2]
History
[edit | edit source]Amplla was founded following Kokeš’s experience with a building fire in 2017, which drew attention to the visibility and accessibility of conventional cylindrical extinguishers that are often concealed for aesthetic reasons.[1] Working with architect Zuzana Ambrožová and designer David Rosinai, Kokeš developed prototypes that led to two principal product lines, The SafeRing and The SafeMaker.[3]
Design and technology
[edit | edit source]Amplla employs a flat circular or toroidal pressure vessel rather than the cylindrical form typical of most portable extinguishers. The construction enables shallow wall-mounting so that units can remain visible in circulation spaces.[1] A shielded model conceals the valve and hose and is designed for one-hand operation using an integrated strap.[2]
The extinguishers use nitrogen (N₂) as a propellant and an ABC powder agent (Furex ABC Spezial). Models are produced in 4 kg (P21) and 6 kg (P34) versions and are certified according to EN 3-7 and the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).[4]

- Red Dot Award: Product Design 2022 (for The SafeMaker).[2]
- iF Design Award 2022 (Gold, for The SafeRing).[1]
- Czech Grand Design 2022 – Manufacturer of the Year (Ministry of Industry and Trade award).[2]
Amplla’s products were also included in the Czech presentation associated with EXPO 2020 Dubai.[1]
Operations
[edit | edit source]Amplla operates primarily in Europe and collaborates with architects and developers on commercial and residential projects. The company’s CEO is Michal Popov.[6]
