Denis Lyle Rathbone (30 May 1912 – 1990) was an English track and field athlete who competed in the 1934 British Empire Games.

Biography

Rathbone was born in Liverpool, England and was educated at Marlborough College and studied at Trinity College, Cambridge.[1] Because he attended Cambridge he was a member of the Achilles Club.[2]

He represented England at the 1934 British Empire Games[3] in London, where he competed in the 220 yards and 4×440 yards relay,[4] winning a gold medal with the relay team.[5] In the 220 yards competition he was eliminated in the semi-finals.
