Minnesota House of Representatives
[edit | edit source]FitzSimmons was first elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2012.

It was accepted and he was one of only four Republican representatives to vote in favor of the bill. It later passed the House and Senate and subsequently signed by Governor Mark Dayton, legalizing same-sex marriage in Minnesota.[1]
FitzSimmons announced on February 22, 2014 that he would not seek re-election, although he did not rule it out.[2][3]
