The Compendium of Analytical Nomenclature is an IUPAC nomenclature book published by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) containing internationally accepted definitions for terms in analytical chemistry.[1] It has traditionally been published in an orange cover, hence its informal name, the Orange Book.
Color Books
[edit | edit source]The Orange Book is one of IUPAC's "Color Books" along with the Nomenclature of Organic Chemistry (Blue Book), Nomenclature of Inorganic Chemistry (Red Book), Quantities, Units and Symbols in Physical Chemistry (Green Book), Compendium of Chemical Terminology (Gold Book), Compendium of Polymer Terminology and Nomenclature (Purple Book), Compendium of Terminology and Nomenclature of Properties Clinical Laboratory Sciences (Silver Book), and Biochemical Nomenclature (White Book).
Editions

(a nil value).),[3] and the fourth in 2023 (Lua error in Module:Citation/CS1/Configuration at line 2172: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value).).[1]
The third edition is available online.[4]
A Catalan translation has also been published (1987, Lua error in Module:Citation/CS1/Configuration at line 2172: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value).).[5]
