Clay Township is one of nine townships in Decatur County, Indiana. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,284 (slightly down from 1,287 at 2010[3]) and it contained 523 housing units.[4]

History
[edit | edit source]Clay Township was organized in 1836.[6]
Champ's Ford Bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.[7]
Geography
[edit | edit source]According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 50.72 square miles (131.4 km2), of which 50.65 square miles (131.2 km2) (or 99.86%) is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 km2) (or 0.12%) is water.[3]
