Chironomus simantobeceus is a species of midge in the family Chironomidae.[1][2]
It was first described in 1998 by the Japanese entomologists, Manabu Sasa, Hiroshi Suzuki & Tetsuo Sakai.[1][3] It takes its epithet, simantobeceus, in part from the Shimanto River (Japan), at the mouth of which the holotype was collected.[3]
