Jontavious Braylon Sanders (born January 21, 1999) is an American professional football wide receiver. He played college football for the Ole Miss Rebels. He has also been a member of the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, DC Defenders, and Washington Commanders.

Early life

Sanders was born on January 21, 1999, in Hogansville, Georgia. He attended and played football at Callaway High School.[1] He committed to play college football at Ole Miss on February 1, 2017.[2]

Miami Dolphins

Sanders was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2022, shortly after the conclusion of the 2022 NFL draft.[6] He was waived by the Dolphins on August 30, and re-signed to the practice squad.[7][8] In Week 7 against the Detroit Lions, Sanders made his NFL debut, catching two passes for 17 yards but also losing a fumble.[9] He signed a reserve/future contract on January 16, 2023.[10]

On August 29, 2023, Sanders was waived by the Dolphins and re-signed to the practice squad.[11][12] He signed a reserve/future contract on January 15, 2024.[13]

Sanders was waived/injured by the Dolphins on August 27, 2024, and placed on injured reserve.[14] He was waived on September 4.[15]

New England Patriots

On October 29, 2024, Sanders was signed to the New England Patriots practice squad.[16]

DC Defenders

On March 6, 2025, Sanders signed with the DC Defenders of the United Football League (UFL).[17] In seven games played, he caught 13 passes for 332 yards and three touchdowns, including a 76-yard touchdown catch during the team's Week 7 victory over the San Antonio Brahmas.[18][19] The Defenders went on to win the 2025 UFL championship game.

Washington Commanders

On August 2, 2025, Sanders signed with the Washington Commanders.[20] He was waived by the Commanders on August 25.[21]
