Bouchercon is an annual convention of creators and devotees of mystery and detective fiction.[1] It is named in honour of writer, reviewer, and editor Anthony Boucher; also the inspiration for the Anthony Awards, which have been issued at the convention since 1986.[2] This page details Bouchercon XLII and the 26th Anthony Awards ceremony.
Bouchercon
[edit | edit source]The convention was held in the Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel of Saint Louis, Missouri, on September 15, 2011, and ran until September 18.[3] The event was chaired by publisher and editors of Crimespree magazine, Jon Jordan.[4] David Thompson, the co-owner of Houston bookstore "Murder by the Book" was also supposed to chair, however died before the event.[5][6]
