Career

[edit | edit source]

Noys is an academic critical theorist who is best known for borrowing the term accelerationism from the science fiction author Roger Zelazny and developing it within cultural and intellectual contexts.[4][2] While Noys is a critic of accelerationism,[5] this theory is used by many far-left[6] and far-right[7][8] extremists to justify speeding up societal changes to break the current system and allow society to rebuild in a post-capitalistic world.[9]

Noys has also been a critic of cryptocurrency, which has been linked to accelerationism.[10]
