[edit | edit source]AppyPie was founded by Abhinav Girdhar on January 21, 2016, in Noida, India.[2][3] Initially recognized for enabling non-coders to build mobile apps, the platform was covered by VentureBeat in 2014, highlighting its potential for democratizing app development.[4]
In 2017, AppyPie introduced a virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) app builder targeted at startups and small businesses.[5]
In 2018, it expanded its offerings with a no-code website builder.[6] The Economic Times featured the company's early growth and approach towards the business development.[7]
In February 2023, Appy Pie launched the AI App Generator.[8] Also in 2023, the company launched AppyLM, an alpha version of a large language model (LLM).[9]
In July 2024, the company acquired the platform Appsmakerstore.com, strengthening its portfolio in the no-code field.[10]
In 2025, it launched two multimodal AI models, PixelForge and Vibeo, for text-to-image and text-to-video generation[11][12] and also introduced PixelYatra, a Hindi-trained generative AI model.[13] The company also released Snappy 3.1, an upgraded version of its App Builder.[14]
