The Antofagasta Chile Temple is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Antofagasta, Chile.[3]
History
[edit | edit source]The intent to construct the temple was announced by church president Russell M. Nelson on April 7, 2019, cconcurrently with 7 other temples.[4] At the time, the number of operating or announced temples was 162.[5]
On November 27, 2020, a groundbreaking ceremony to signify beginning of construction was held, with Juan Pablo Villar, a general authority and member of the presidency of the church's South America South Area, presiding.[3] It was dedicated on June 15, 2025 by Gary E. Stevenson.[citation needed] It is the third temple in Chile.[6]
