Aftar (Persian: افتر)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Hafdar Rural District[4] of Hafdar District, Sorkheh County, Semnan province, Iran.
Demographics

[edit | edit source]At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 914 in 220 households, when it was in Sorkheh District[a] of Semnan County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 734 people in 218 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,222 people in 410 households,[2] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Sorkheh County and renamed the Central District.[5]
After the census, the rural district was separated from the district in the formation of Hafdar District.[5]
