Fraud

[edit | edit source]

On November 10, 2024 Wagner was indicted by a federal grand jury in Salt Lake City on 16 counts of various financial crimes including wire fraud and money laundering.[3] He is accused of defrauding private investors and lenders in restaurant businesses, bringing in more than $40 million dollars. Prosecutors in the case requested he be kept in jail until the case, arguing that his wealth and dual Canadian Citizenship made him a flight risk.[4] The judge opted for house arrest with ankle monitoring. A jury trial is scheduled for November 3, 2025.[5]
