The Composer of the Month focuses on improving opera composers' biographies and articles relating to their works.

The Composer of the Month for September is Ruggero Leoncavallo.

His biography needs expanding with details of his early years and personal life. He lived for quite a while in Paris and was married to the singer Berthe Rambaud, to whom he dedicated his opera La bohème. In his later life he lived in Switzerland in a villa which he helped design and was named after his adopted daughter. [1], [2]. None of this information is currently in the article.

We also lack an article on his opera Gli zingari. September 16th marks the 100th anniversary of its premiere. [3]
