— Operas of the Month focuses on improving existing opera articles and the coverage of related subjects. —
The Operas of the Month for May are Rossini's La scala di seta and Demetrio e Polibio, both of which premiered 200 years ago this month.
- La scala di seta needs a performance history and improved referencing. The Teatro San Moisè, where it premiered, would benefit from further illustrations and inline citations.
- Demetrio e Polibio needs a performance history and improved referencing. The leading roles were taken by members of the distinguished Mombelli family of singers, Maria Ester Mombelli, Marianna Mombelli, and Domenico Mombelli, all of whom lack articles. Vincenzina Viganò-Mombelli, Domenico's wife, wrote the libretto.
