This is the current revision of this page, as edited by imported>Robertsky at 18:00, 20 April 2025 (Robertsky moved page Template:Myprefs/section/doc to Template:Preferences/section/doc: Requested by Andrybak at WP:RM/TR: "Myprefs" made sense with the original wording, which was replaced in Special:Diff/525028556 after Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)/Archive 105#Small change to the top right menu. Nowadays, "Preferences" is a much better name for the template. Silent consensus at [[Template talk:...). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this version.

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Preferences/section.
It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

Helper template for Template:Myprefs. Produces a localized link to sections of Special:Preferences.

Parameters

|1=: Name of a tab on Special:Preferences.
|2=: Name of a section in the individual tab. Each section is contained in HTML tag <fieldset>, i.e. each section is a set of [form] fields.

Both parameters need to be supplied in English locale.

Development notes

Automatic switching of tabs is facilitated by code in the script resources/src/mediawiki.special.preferences.ooui/nav.js.
Wikitext of this template was generated using a userscript. The script can be helpful in case of significant changes to the layout of preferences.
