Purpose

[edit source]

This template provides a convenient way to produce an external link to John Gilliland's Pop Chronicles the 40s music documentary. By default this cites the documentary now available on the unt.edu website. But one can use the url= parameter to cite the direct side or the audiobook. This can be used in the External links section or when citing it as a show as a source.

Vertical layout
{{Pop Chronicles 40s
| tape       =
| side       =
| track      =
| url        =
}}
Horizontal layout
{{Pop Chronicles 40s |tape= |side= |track= |url= }}
Short layout

Valid with up to these two parameters (in this order) only:

{{Pop Chronicles 40s |<tape> |<side> |<track> |<url> }}

Parameters

[edit source]
Parameter Type Description
tape optional The cassette tape number in the series. There are 4 cassettes in the audio-book, so this number should run from 1 to 4. If omitted, neither tape nor side will be listed.
side optional The side of the cassette tape, should be A or B. If omitted, the side will not be listed.
track optional Some artists or songs only appear on a single track of a show. This specifies which track. If provided, the track number displays at the end of the citation. If not provided, this is ignored.
url optional The web address (URL) of the episode. If this is missing, this template will use the "tape" and "side" parameters to generate a URL.
