Albemarle County, Virginia is a county in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Its county seat is Charlottesville. As of 2009, it had an estimated population of 95,247 according to the Census Bureau. Located within and around Albemarle County is the University of Virginia, Monticello, Montpelier and other sites.
