The leading roles were taken by members of the distinguished Mombelli family of singers, Maria Ester Mombelli, Marianna Mombelli, and Domenico Mombelli, all of whom lack articles. Vincenzina Viganò-Mombelli, Domenico's wife, wrote the libretto.
