— The Opera of the Month focuses on improving existing opera articles or the coverage of related subjects. —

The Operas of the Month for June are Julien by Gustave Charpentier (pictured), which premiered 100 years ago this month, and Les Abencérages by Luigi Cherubini, which premiered 200 years ago this month.

Julien needs expansion of the synopsis and general tidying up. We lack articles on the two lead singers at the premiere: Charles Rousselière (Julien) and Marguerite Carré (Louise).

Les Abencérages needs better referencing and backround and performance history sections. We lack articles on several of its role creators, including Henri-Étienne Dérivis (the father of Prosper Dérivis) and Louis Nourrit (the father of Adolphe Nourrit).
