There are now (deep breath) 5,200 articles in {{cl|Diptera stubs}}. Probably about time we started splitting by family (or even possibly, in cases like [[actia]], by genus). Trouble is, there are apparently 218 families of diptera. There are numerous suborders, but splitting by them alone would almost certainly still leave oversized categories. Given that there are probably several hundred {{cl|Tachinidae stubs}} and {{cl|Tephritidae stubs}} alone, though I haven't done any sort of formal count-up, splitting out some of the major families would probably be a good idea. [[WP:WikiProject Statistics|WikiProject Statistics]] has been running successfully for over a year and I believe it would be useful to create {{tl|Statistician-stub}} and [[:Category:Statistician stubs]] to help members locate biography stubs in their area of interest. Such stubs are currently mostly in [[:Category:Mathematician stubs]], which currently has 539 entries in the main category, while some others, particularly applied statisticians, are in other subcategories of [[:Category:Scientist stubs]]. [http://toolserver.org/~daniel/WikiSense/CategoryIntersect.php?wikilang=en&wikifam=.wikipedia.org&basecat=statisticians&basedeep=3&mode=cs&tagcat=Scientist+stubs&tagdeep=4&go=Scan&format=html&userlang=en Cat Scan finds 120 articles] in both [[:Category:Statisticians]] and [[:Category:Scientist stubs]] or their subcategories, and I believe such a template would be appropriate for most of these articles.
