Working on posting a page for a Tampa Bay radio personality, musician, author and actor named Kirk McEwen: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Kirk_McEwen

It's been rejected for 1) not having enough sources - so after mult. revisions, i've now added 9 sources. 2) not having independent sources, which makes no sense because talkers.com, imdb.com, bleacherreport.com, ontaponline.com and OhMyGoff.tv are quite independent of each other and independent of the subject of the article. 3) I've been told the subject is not notable enough - who's opinion is this? He's been a top-rated morning drive host in a top-20 market for over a year, and has previously won awards for his work in a top-10 market as a DJ. On top of that he hosts his own podcast, he's a published author and, again, he's been in a major Hollywood release directed by John Waters.

I've linked to published articles about other personalities with FAR less citation in this article. Some of them worked under the subject on HIS show, they are relevant enough for an article to be approved, but the subject is not?

:We need sources satisfying three criteria: Firstly, they must be [[WP:RS|reliable]], that is, they must be subject to editorial oversight and have a reputation for fact-checking. This rules out IMDb and most blogs. Secondly, they must be [[WP:Independent sources|independent of the subject]]. His various shows' websites and his Bleacher Report userpage don't satisfy this criterion since they're set up either by himself or by his employers. Interviws, McEwen talking about McEwen, also fall short of this criterion. Thirdly, they must provide significant coverage, not just mention his name in passing. For example, Talkers.com devotes no more than half a sentence to him. If multiple sources that satisfy these criteria exist, McEwan is presumed to be [[WP:BIO|notable]]. However, I don't see a single source that satisfies all three criteria.

::The first of those clearly doesn't, and neither do several others of the article's sources. Others are highly dubious and provide only trivial coverage, such as PE Hub. (Also, that's a source dated 2007 discussing a takeover the article claims happened in 2005. So that source seems to be misrepresented, too.) This needs to be thoroughly vetted to make sure that the cited sources indeed confirm the statements they are cited for. Sources that don't mention the draft's topic should be removed. :Before adding a photo, first be sure that you own the copyright to the photo. Usually the person who actually took the photo owns the copyright, but sometimes the photographer gives or sells the rights to someone else. If it's a photo you took yourself, you can upload it at [http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page Wikimedia Commons]. However, once you do, it will be freely licensed so that anyone can use it. :There doesn't seem to be sufficient independent (not written by Dr. Samson or her organization) sources. I have three suggestions: (1) Sources don't have to be in English. Has a news source in the area(s) where the lessons were used covered this? (2) The sources don't have to be on line. If there were articles in a newspaper or magazine, they can be used as sources provided that the title of the article, the name and date of the newpaper are known. (3) If neither of these work, consider that most of the article really is about Dr. Samson. If there are published sources about her and her work, maybe the article could be written about her, and the information about the lessons included in that article.
