Glyptocephalus is a genus of righteye flounders found in the northern Atlantic and northern Pacific Oceans
Etymology
[edit | edit source]The word Glytocephalus is derived from the Greek γλύφειν (glyphein), meaning "to carve", and κεφαλή (kephalē), meaning "head".
