Supreme deity

A supreme deity, supreme god or supreme being is the conception of the sole deity of monotheistic religions or, in polytheistic or henotheistic religions, the paramount deity or supernatural entity which is above all others.

Gilded statue of the Canaanite "supreme deity" El (c. 1400–1200 BC) from the site of Tel Megiddo. El is considered to be the cognate of the word "Ilah" turning Allah[1][2] and continues to appear in compound names like Gabriel, Michael, Azrael, Israel, Ishmael, Samuel, Raphael, etc.
