Manni is a town in the Manni Department of Gnagna Province in eastern Burkina Faso. It is the capital of Manni Department and has a population of 15,066.
Geography

[edit | edit source]Manni is located 35 km north of Bogandé, the provincial capital, and 30 km south of Taparko.
It is on the edge of a tributary of the Faga River, on which the Manni embankment dam was built.
Demography
[edit | edit source]- In 2003, the village had an estimated 7,276 inhabitants.[2]
- In 2006, the village had a population of 7,441 inhabitants.[3]
History
[edit | edit source]In October 2024, there was a massacre of around 150 people.[4]
Economy
[edit | edit source]Economic and commercial center of the department, the village benefits from its central location for trade between the north and the south of the province of Gnagna.
Transports
[edit | edit source]The village is crossed by national road 18.
Health and education
[edit | edit source]Manni hosts a medical center and a health and social promotion center (CSPS).[5]
