The mayor of Kāpiti Coast officiates over the Kāpiti Coast District Council.[2]

Janet Holborow is the current mayor of Kāpiti Coast.[2] She was elected to the position in 2022 after serving as Deputy Mayor from 2016 to 2022, and as a member of the Kapiti Coast District Council for 18 years. [3]
