Jack Patterson (born 7 June 1986) is a British musician, songwriter and producer who is co-founded the music group Clean Bandit. He wrote all four of their number-one singles — Rather Be, Symphony, Rockabye and Solo.[1]

Early life

Patterson was born in Birkenhead, United Kingdom in 1986 to Richard and Therese Patterson, he has younger brother Luke, also in Clean Bandit.[2] He attended Calday Grammar School and went on to study architecture at Jesus College, Cambridge.[3][4]

Career

He co-founded Clean Bandit with Grace Chatto at Cambridge University in 2008, with brother Luke Patterson as the third member.[5]

Patterson co-wrote and produced all of Clean Bandit's songs, and directed most of their music videos. Clean Bandit have received 8 Brit Award nominations, a VMA nomination, and won a Grammy for their song Rather Be.[6][7][8] They have released two studio albums.

Patterson has also written and produced songs for other artists, including Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Marina Diamandis, Becky Hill, Jess Glynne and Ellie Goulding.[9][10][11][12][13] He has won two Ivor Novello awards.[14]

Personal life

Patterson split from his longtime girlfriend, singer Marina Diamandis, in 2021.[15]
