English: Wikipedia active editors increased by over 100%/year from 2001 to 2007, and has declined by 6.2%/year for active editors (over 100 edits/month) and by 11.27%/year for new editors making at least 5 edits in the last month from May 2007 until May 2013. The total number of new editors may be leveling off at about 6000/month and the number of active editors to 3000, but there was a sharp decrease in new editors in 2015, and in editors making over 5 edits, but an increase in editors making over 100 edits. Wikipedia appears to be entering a third phase. The first being rapid growth, the second disappointment, the third maturity. |
