Fair Use Rationale

Released by the architect to promote his/her product. This image is a promotional image from SOM, and is the only image available for this new construction project. Since this is a proposed building, there are no images released depicting the building accurately save for those released by the architect, which are all non-free and copyrighted. It is not a replaceable image. Until more information and images are released, there are currently no free images available. Therefore, this image is viable for use on Wikipedia.

The image is used in two articles. It is used in the actual Treasure Island development article to illustrate the buildings in questions. It is also used in the List of tallest buildings in San Francisco article to illustrate the Treasure Island towers as being among the tallest proposed buildings in the city. No free image counterparts can be found for either list to take the place of this image.

  • There is no free-image equivalent that can be used to accurately portray the entire development's size, layout and design.
  • This image is used promotionally by the architect.
  • It is being used only for informative purposes.
  • This meets the media-specific policy requirements.
  • The image is used in at least one article.
  • The image does not detract from the reputation of the architectural firm or the developing firm.
  • The material contributes to the article by specifically illustrating a relevant section within the text about this building and its proposed height.
  • The material is encyclopedic and otherwise meets general Wikipedia content requirements.
