Purpose of use

The purpose of the image is to supplement the commentary about the rejected mascot designs at 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games mascots. These mascot designs were on a shortlist presented to elementary school students in a highly publicized election to select the mascots. A text-only description of the rejected options would fail to provide a complete encyclopedic coverage of the selection process.
