Media data and Non-free use rationale
Description Status effects are a core gameplay mechanic in Final Fantasy XIV. In most encounters, buffs and debuffs are applied to the player character which can impact their attributes, abilities, and provide clues as to how to solve certain mechanics. UI elements notify the player when a status effect has been applied, often with a counter indicating the duration of the effect. Hovering over one of these UI elements shows a tooltip explaining the status effect.

Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) The composite screenshot shows one possible way for a game (in this case a popular MMORPG) to communicate with a player that they are under the effect of one or multiple status effects and how they will affect the gameplay. It is easy to understand and highlights two of the most important aspects of the article: Buffs and debuffs.
