Summary
[edit | edit source]| Description |
Photograph of the Solway Firth Spaceman taken by Jim Templeton in 1964. Although copyright details are not firmly established, a letter from author published in the December 13, 2002 edition of the Daily Mail, read: "Over the four decades the photo has been in the public domain, I have had many thousands of letters from all over the world with various ideas or possibilities - most of which make little sense to me." As per Wikipedia policy, however, the image should be viewed as a copyrighted image used under fair use, until copyright details are firmly established. |

Licensing
[edit | edit source]Please remember that the non-free content criteria require that non-free images on Wikipedia must not "[be] used in a manner that is likely to replace the original market role of the original copyrighted media." Use of historic images from press agencies must only be of a transformative nature, when the image itself is the subject of commentary rather than the event it depicts (which is the original market role, and is not allowed per policy).
