  • English: Table of the inheritance of the exhibition in the resource of the cave of Shapour, located in the پی کوه که gar Shapoor in the house of the decision of Dard.
    This plaque translates:
    "Statue and Shapur Cave:
    This cave is located 6 kilometers from the historic city of Bishapur in the heights overlooking Tang-e Chogan. The drip of stalactites over thousands of years has created a massive stone column. This column was later carved by a Sasanian artist into a very beautiful shape, creating the massive statue of Shapur I, the Sasanian king. This statue is the largest statue of the historic era of Iran. The height of this statue is more than 6 meters, & its shoulder width reaches 2 meters. The sphere on top of the crown is carved on the stone roof like a relief map. The head & neck of the statue are built in perfect stability & it wears the special crown of Shapur. The expression of Shapur's face indicates tranquility, the will of judgment, bravery, & courage, & his gaze is fixed on a specific point. Due to natural factors, likely an earthquake, this statue fell from its original place & parts of it are broken. The army re-erected this statue in C.E.1996 & installed it in its place using armed tunnels, which although damaged the general condition of the statue, protected it from further destruction due to falling on the ground. A commemoration plaque was created on the wall of the cave for this action. Further identification of this cave requires precise archaeological studies. Access to the inner parts of the cave due to historic corridors, abysses, and water pools without using appropriate equipment is not possible & dangerous."
