Future scenarios are the Shared Socioeconomic pathways.[3][4] Only the two low-emission scenarios are shown.[5] The blue scenarios correspond to a temperature increase limited to 1.5 degree Celsius, and are all RCP1.9 scenarios from different Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSP). The green scenarios correspond to a temperature rise of 2.0 degree Celsius and are the RCP2.6 scenarios. All SSPs are included in the figure except SSP3 (regional rivalry) as stringent mitigation was not possible with that pathway.
