Purpose of use

To show the characters of Lester and Eliza. They appear similar to Bart and Lisa, because they are based on earlier designs of the two characters. The top image shows Eliza and Lester, whose designs are based on versions of Lisa and Bart from The Tracey Ullman Show shorts. Below is Lisa and Bart as they appear in "The Day the Violence Died", bearing a close resemblance to Eliza and Lester.
