Summary
[edit | edit source]This is the logo of the Leeds Carnegie rugby team, and can be found in an uncropped form at [1]. As this logo is intended to represent a sports team, I believe it qualifies under Wikipedia's Fair Use policy.
Licensing

The use of low-resolution images on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, of logos for certain uses involving identification and critical commentary may qualify as non-free use under the copyright law of the United States. [edit | edit source]Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- It illustrates an educational article about Leeds Carnegie.
- The image is used as the primary means of visual identification of the article topic.
- The image is low-resolution and unsuitable for production of counterfeit goods.
- The logo is not used in such a way that a reader would be confused into believing that the article is written or authorized by Leeds Metropolitan University (the majority owner of the club), Leeds Rugby (the minority owner), or Leeds Carnegie.
- No uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted image of comparable educational value is available.
