Summary

[edit | edit source]

10 KVA motor generator set used to control the AC voltage to a high voltage power supply for an electron beam welding machine. The ratio is 1:1 as the motor is three phase 208 volts and the generator output is 3 phase 208 volts. The DC armature voltage is varied to achieve a variable output voltage from 0 to 208 volts.

1) Motor side of the MG set. 2) Generator Side of the MG set. 3) Brush housing for the slip rings that feed DC current to the generator armature. 4) Control box housing the armature voltage control circuitry.
